Greater Kingston Curling is proud to be the Platinum Sponsor of OFSAA 2024 Curling hosted by Frontenac Secondary School at our 4 GKC Clubs. Thirty-six high school teams (18 girls & 18 boys) descended on the Greater Kingston Area for the chance to be crowned provincial high school champions.
During the 4 days of competition Napanee and District Curling Club hosted boys’ competition, Gananoque Curling Club hosted girls’ competition, while Royal Kingston Curling Club and Cataraqui Golf and Country Club hosted both genders.
The Greater Kingston Area was well represented with the Boys and Girls teams from Frontenac High School (host teams), Kingston Secondary School Boys and Girls teams (EOSSAA winners), and Napanee and District Secondary School Girls’ team (final fill spot). All the teams performed well. Both boys teams and the Napanee girls team made it to the playoff rounds.
The Frontenac Boys Team of Luke De Groote, Andrew DaCosta, Ryan Kreick, Logan Bedard and Alexander Bulch won the gold medal and the Kingston Secondary School Boys came in 4th place. It is great to see so many talented young curlers who have developed their skills at GKC clubs. Many of these curlers have also received GKC Junior Curling Sponsorship funds, part of the legacy of hosting the 2020 Brier.
